How to best protect larger wounds
Sterile XXL plasters are state-of-the-art and ensure an optimal wound healing
Contrary to popular belief, scientific research has shown that leaving a wound to heal in dry air may actually prolong and irritate the healing process. Larger wounds are best protected with sterile wound dressings that cushion the wound. Covering a wound prevents contamination, reduces the risk of infection and ensures an undisturbed and optimal healing environment.
Hansaplast offers two different sizes of plasters for medium to large wounds:
For them, Hansaplast Sensitive XL and XXL plasters address several needs: They are extra skin-friendly with a soft and breathable material. The non-stick wound pad with or without antibacterial silver protects and cushions the wound.
Hansaplast Aqua Protect XL and XXL plasters are ideal for washing, showering, bathing and swimming. The waterproof material guards against moisture while their large, non-stick pad protects and cushions the wound. The plasters are breathable and thin and thus flexible enough to adapt to the skin‘s movements.
You have a wound with a higher risk of infection, e.g. if an abrasion wound is dirty or if the wound has specific risk factors such as diabetes
You need a sterile state-of-the-art wound protection that can be used in combination with additional wound treatment and antiseptics
